Dry Systems

What do we mean by dry systems?

A dry system is a multifuel stove without a boiler attachment. The most common situation is to install a multifuel stove in place of a gas or open fire. Therefore, we need to excavate a fire chamber or builder's opening. The normally large amount of rubble will be removed from the property via skip. The backs and sides of the builder's opening will be made smooth and made as one with the original chimney breast, which will provide a smooth finish for decorating. The chimney flue is inspected to ensure its suitability. Two other items are the hearth, made with your choice of material, and the flexible flue liner with cowl. The flexible flue liner with cowl will enable the extraction of smoke from the stove with high efficiency.

The finished job always looks wonderful, being the focal point of the room, with the added contentment that watching a fire generating heat brings.

Alternatively, we can install a free standing stove on a hearth of your choice, with a factory made, stainless steel twin-wall system. This method allows for a large variety of locations within your home.

This is a cross section of chimney with a flexible flue liner. This creates a gas seal from top to bottom.

We fit liners as a standard procedure for both the safety aspect and the efficency of the stove. This means when the appliance is closed down via the stove controls the combustion rate drops significantly and the fuel is burning at a lower tempreture which off course increases the length of time the fuel lasts.

The Flexible liner is supported at the top of the chimney using a pot hanging cowl as well as the bottom.

A closure plate is installed to stop any heat loss up the chimney, it also stops any soot or tar from dropping down over time.

A twin wall system allows our customers to install a stove in which ever location they wish.

These systems are highly effective and are designed for optimum efficiency.

The image beside shows a twin wall system passing through a property the other and more common option is to go one meter up from the stove using vitreous pipe and then using 45degree bends exit the building and run up the side of the property to the roof.
